Terms of Use
These terms govern the Captique iOS and Android apps and this website (captique.app). They are an agreement between you and the developer of Captique, a person based in Hong Kong (“we”).

The Privacy Policy explains what data we collect. It is part of these terms.
Eligibility and age
Captique is suitable for ages 4 and up.
If you are under 13, or under the higher minimum digital-consent age in your country, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms and supervise the account. Do not create an account for a child without that adult’s permission.
By using Captique you confirm that you are at least 4, or that you are the parent or guardian who agreed for them.
The service
Captique lets you capture phrases from the world, translate them, generate memory hints, and study them. You can type or paste, photograph text, or dictate on the device. You can review phrases already saved on the device without a connection. You can start as a guest (data stays on the device) or bind an account so the library can sync.
Translation, memory hint generation, and search by meaning need a connection and a bound account. They are not available in guest mode.
Features may change. We may add, limit, or remove parts of the service.
Translation, memory hint generation, and search by meaning can be wrong. You are responsible for how you use that output. Do not rely on it as professional, legal, or official language advice.
Accounts
If you create or bind an account, provide accurate sign-in details and keep them safe. You are responsible for activity on that account.
Guest mode creates a throwaway sign-in so the app can run. Guest study data is not synced. Leaving guest mode wipes the on-device guest library.
We may suspend or end an account that abuses the service or these terms.
You may delete a bound account in Settings → Delete Account, or by emailing support@captique.app. Deletion is permanent. It does not cancel an Apple or Google subscription.
Acceptable use
Do not use Captique to break the law, harm others, probe or disrupt our systems, or scrape the service.
Do not upload or capture content you do not have the right to use. Camera, photo, and voice capture are for your own learning. Do not use them to copy other people’s private documents, paid content, or anything you are not allowed to record.
Do not try to bypass Pro limits, overload the translation or hint services, or interfere with other users.
Your content
You keep the rights to the phrases you save.
You grant us a licence to store and process that content only to run Captique: sync, translate, search, and generate memory hints. We do not claim ownership of your phrases and we do not use them to train our own models.
You are responsible for the content you save.
Captique Pro subscriptions
Paid features are sold as Captique Pro.

There is no free trial and no introductory discount. The price you confirm on the Apple or Google purchase screen is the price charged. Apple or Google may show that price in your local currency and may include tax.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Manage or cancel in your store account settings:
- Apple: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, or apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions
- Google: Play Store → Payments & subscriptions
Deleting the app or deleting your Captique account does not cancel a subscription. Billing continues through Apple or Google until you cancel there.
Refunds, if any, are handled by Apple or Google under their store rules.
Free features
Without Captique Pro you can capture phrases by typing, pasting, photographing text, or dictating on the device. You can hear a saved phrase read aloud, review it offline, and search the exact words you saved. Daily goals, streaks, and reminders are included. Those parts work without a connection for phrases already on the device, and they do not need Pro.
With a bound account and a connection, the free plan also includes, each calendar month (UTC):
- 180 translations
- 120 memory hint generations
- 300 searches by meaning
Captique Pro removes those monthly limits and removes ads. The free plan, including guest mode, can show ads. Guest mode does not include translation, memory hint generation, or search by meaning.
Intellectual property
Captique, the name, the logo, and the apps are ours. You may not copy, reverse engineer, or redistribute the apps except as the law allows.
Apple and Google are not parties to these terms and are not responsible for Captique. Purchases you make through their stores are also covered by their terms.
Disclaimer
The apps and website are provided “as is.” We do not promise uninterrupted service, perfect sync, or error-free AI output.
Captique is a personal project. We will try to keep it running, but we do not promise any particular uptime.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data after you delete your account or leave guest mode.
Our total liability for a claim is limited to the amount you paid us for Captique Pro in the 12 months before the claim, or USD $50 if you paid nothing.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not let us limit, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
If you are a consumer, you keep the rights that your local consumer law does not let you waive.
Termination
You may stop using Captique and delete your account at any time.
We may stop providing the service with reasonable notice where we can. If we shut the service down, we will say so on this website.
After termination, sections that by their nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimer, liability, and governing law) still apply.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Hong Kong, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Hong Kong have exclusive jurisdiction, except where consumer law in your country says otherwise.
Changes
We may update these terms by posting a new version on this page. Material changes will show a new “Last updated” date and a short note at the top when the change is significant.
If you do not agree with the new terms, stop using Captique and delete your account.
